Gas Meter Exchange & August 10th Updates

Gas Meter Exchange  (Hot Water Outage)

On Friday 8/21/2020 Norwich Public Utilities will be on property to exchange gas meters. This will include shutting off furnaces and our water heater while the work is being completed. Work will take place between 08:00 and 12:00. All pilots will be re-lit when the work has been completed. I will be on hand to make sure all goes as it should.

Please plan accordingly for showers and be as accommodating as you possibly can. Cold water washes for laundry, conserve on the night before as possible and be aware that hot water may be scarce on Friday morning! Feel free to email me directly for any concerns: pgoo9@mac.com

Lawn Services Completed/Storm Debris/Bushes

Lawn services were completed today, on schedule.

In order to complete, debris and tree fall from this last storm had to be removed. It turned out to be a much larger job than I anticipated - and would have been a large and unexpected bill if we had paid a contractor. I removed 5 full 'tarps' of fall from public areas, adding to the brush pile behind the dumpster.

While outside, I decided to give the front left bush a 'bottom trim.' We'll see how it reacts and will proceed with an overall trim as the shock subsides and we see how it fares.

Mystery Objects and Pitching In

In addition to the usual trash that floats into our property from the street (Greene Ave Dandruff) I have begun to find used vape pens on the hill and in the lower backyard.

If anyone is using them (or knows who is) please ask that they dispose of them properly.

On the same note, anyone can take a moment an pick up a piece of trash or fallen limb and your contribution to the community would be much appreciated.

As a reminder, all work that I have been doing around the property has been voluntary and just goes to improve the quality of life at 26 Greene.

Porch Additions

I've added a  nice wooden chessboard along with glass chess and checker pieces to our porch collection. Also found a vintage cribbage board and tossed in a couple of decks of cards and some dice for 'bones.' Please use and enjoy! You'll also find a Japanese umbrella and a few old style fans to make porch sitting more comfortable.

More Art

I found another pretty mirror and 5 more framed prints that will be going up into public areas this week. This will bring us up to over 50 items from my collection on display in public areas.

Again, if you are loaning anything, do keep an inventory of item description, location and value for insurance considerations.
